It is given that the total surface area of the cylinder is, 2πr r+h =462 cm 2 .   And the curved surface area is one-third of the total surface area of the cylinder.
2πrh= 1 3 ×462 2πrh=154 cm 2 ................(1)  
 The ratio of total surface area to curved surface area will be given as,
    2πr r+h 2πrh = 462 154 r+h h =3 r+h=3h r=2h  
r=2h h= r 2  
Substituting h= r 2   in (1), we get,
   2πr× r 2 =154 π r 2 =154 22 7 × r 2 =154 r 2 =154× 7 22   r 2 =49 r=7cm and h= 7 2 cm  
Now, we can calculate the volume of the cylinder as,
