Given:
Weight of three types of fruits =19 1 3 kg.                                       ------------(1)
Weight of apples =8 1 9 kg.                                                              ------------(2)
Weight of oranges = 3 1 6 kg.                                                             ------------(3)
Now, adding equations (2) and (3),
8 1 9 +3 1 6                                                                                            ------------(4)
Determining the weight of the pears.
Weight of the pears = weight of three types of fruits -(weight of apples + weight of oranges).
Substitute the values from equation (1) and from equation (4) in the above equation.
Weight of the pears =19 1 3 − 8 1 9 +3 1 6
On simplifying,
= 57+1 3 − 72+1 9 − 18+1 6 = 58 3 − 73 9 − 19 6                                                                                      = (58×6)−(73×2)−(19×3) 18 = 348−146−57 18 = 348−203 18 = 145 18 =8 1 18 Therefore, the weight of the pears is 8 1 18 kg.
