We have to find the weight of the teacher, if the mean weight of a class of 34 students is 46.5 kg and if the weight of the teacher is included, the mean rises by 500 g.
We know that,

Mean= Sum of all observations Number of observations

The mean weight of a class of 34 students is 46.5 kg. Therefore,

Sum of weight 34 = 46.5 Sum of weight = 46.5 × 34 = 1581

According to the question,
New mean = 46.5 + 0.5 = 47 kg. [1 kg = 1000 g]
Let the weight of the teacher be x kg.
So,

1581 + x 35 = 47 1581 + x = 47 × 35 1581 + x = 1645 x = 1645 − 1581 x = 64

Thus, the weight of the teacher is 64kg.
Therefore, option 1 is correct.
