This is because while making a magnet if it is rubbed randomly instead of rubbing it in one direction then it will not transfer into a magnet. Therefore on rubbing a friction is produced and the particles get loosed. Hence, it takes energy while producing a magnetic field due to odd number of electrons so it will always have one unpaired electrons and it can’t be magnetized.
