Detailed Solution

In 1946, French women gained the right to vote. France's women were considered second-class citizens after the revolution. While both men and women made equal contributions to the liberation of France, only men received recognition, and women were ignored. Women's fundamental rights, including the right to an education, the freedom of free speech, and the right to equality, were stripped away. In addition, women were ignored in the ability to cast a ballot, run for office, and hold political office. All of these actions infuriated women for a protracted fight. Finally, French women were granted the right to vote in 1946.
