To confront the Bolsheviks, their leaders organised armies and relocated to South Russia. The Bolsheviks' decree to redistribute land caused the Russian army to disintegrate. The "greens" (Socialist Revolutionaries) and "whites" (Pro Tsarists) ruled the majority of the Russian empire in 1918 and 1919.
