Detailed Solution

When one body rolls over the surface of another body, the resistance to its motion is called rolling friction.

Since the bike is pushing the ground backwards the friction will act in the forward direction.

When the bike moves, we rotate the wheel to move forward. As the rear wheel rotates faster, the point on the wheel tends to move backwards. Friction due to the ground hence acts in the forward direction to accelerate the bike.
