During beta decay, a beta particle i.e. a fast energetic electron or positron emits from an atomic nucleus which transforms the original nucleus into the isobar of that nucleus. By beta decay, a proton converts itself into a neutron. During the beta decay of a proton, a neutrino and a positron are emitted. The charge of the positron is positive and the neutrino is uncharged.
