Detailed Solution

When an object is immersed fully or partially in a liquid, the apparent loss in its weight is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by it.
Archimedes' principle states that when a body is fully or partially submerged in a fluid, the upthrust it receives is equal to the weight of the fluid that the submerged portion of the body has displaced. As a result, when an object is entirely submerged in a liquid, the volume of the liquid displaced by the object is equal to the weight of the object.
