Detailed Solution

When an object is in motion and we suddenly apply a certain brake then the object will move forward and then stop.
A person in the state of rest or in the state of motion continues to travel in the same state of rest or motion unless it is acted upon by an external force. This is the first law of motion. The inherent property of an object to resist the change in its state of rest or motion in a straight line is called the inertia of that object. When a moving object is stopped from moving, it tends to resist the brake so move forward and then stop.
