Detailed Solution

Birsa Munda died in 1900.
The chief of the Munda tribe, Birsa Munda, fought to free the native population from the colonisers' repressive laws and practices. The British officials were concerned by Birsa's political goals, which included forcing out missionaries, lenders, Hindu landlords, and the government in order to establish a Munda Raj with Birsa as its king. Each of these elements, in Birsa's opinion, played a part in the suffering the Mundas were going through. As the movement gained momentum, the British government made the decision to respond. Birsa was taken into custody in 1895, freed from jail in 1897, and passed away in 1900.
