Detailed Solution

Gutenberg made the first printing press in 1448.
The son of a businessman, Gutenberg was raised on an extensive rural estate. Later, he mastered the craft of goldsmithing, learned how to polish stones, and also developed the skills necessary to make lead moulds for producing trinkets. Using this knowledge as a foundation, Gutenberg modified current technologies to create his invention. Thus the printing press was modelled after the olive press, and metal types for the alphabet's letters were created using moulds. The Bible was the first publication he made. However, three years were required to print roughly 180 copies.
