The Japanese Bomber surprise attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The US military was completely taken aback by the sudden attack, which completely altered the Second World War and marked the joining of the US in the war as well. The tensions between the two nations started almost a decade before Pearl Harbor was attacked. The US wanted to support Japan's expansion, so it began to pass economic sanctions against Japan, which mounted the problems. In September 1940, Japan signed the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy, the two fascist regimes than were at war with the Allies.
