Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi reached Dandi on 6 April 1930 to break the salt law.Mahatma Gandhi started the Civil Disobedience Movementi after an ultimatum to Lord Irwin.Inn his other phase of the mass movement,Gandhiji  thought of better integration of people through common issues. He raised the issue of salt as a unifying factor because salt was needed in every household, rich and poor. He led the salt march, also known as the Dandi march, from his Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, a Gujrati coastal town with 78 volunteers. He violated the salt law by manufacturing it from seawater and began the movement.
