Detailed Solution

In 1932, Mahatma Gandhi relaunched the Civil Disobedience Movement.
Gandhi travelled to London in December 1931 for the Round Table Conference, but the negotiations failed, leaving him disappointed. He returned to India and learned that the British had unleashed a new episode of repression. The Congress was proclaimed illegal, Ghaffar Khan and Jawaharlal Nehru were both in prison, and several restrictions were placed on gatherings, protests, and boycotts. Mahatma Gandhi restored the Civil Disobedience Movement with a great deal of apprehension. The movement persisted for more than a year, but by 1934 it fizzled out.
