Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi used his noble idea of Satyagraha for the first time in South Africa.
In the years 1917 to 1918, Gandhi inspired the first Satyagraha movements in the Kheda and Champaran districts of Gujarat and Bihar. The phrase "Satyagraha" was first used in the anti-Rowlatt Act movement, while Champaran Satyagraha was the first to be launched. The concept of Satyagraha emphasised the importance of seeking out the truth and the strength of the truth. It implied that using physical force to combat the oppressor was unnecessary if the cause was just and the fight was being waged against injustice. A satyagrahi could prevail in war by nonviolence without seeking retribution or being violent. This could be accomplished by addressing the conscience of the oppressor.
