Detailed Solution

The civil war in Sri Lanka started in 1983.
The civil war of Sri Lanka was initiated in 1983 and finished in 2009. The cause of the civil war was an erratic revolt against the government by the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam). The battle emerged because the Srilankan Tamils founded groups for the distinction of Tamil as an authorised language, for provincial sovereignty, and for equivalency of opportunities in ensuring education and employment. But their demand was refused, and the mistrust among the two communities diverted into an across-the-board dispute.
