Detailed Solution

In the late 19th century, the colonial government began to impose restrictions on African pastoralists.
African pastoralists had the freedom to travel over considerable distances in search of pastures. However, they went to a different spot to graze their cattle after the pastures in one place where used. The colonial authorities started limiting their migration in the late nineteenth century. Like the Maasai, other pastoral groups were similarly compelled to reside within exclusive reserves. These reserves' perimeters become the confines of their new range of motion. Without specific permits, they were not able to leave with their stock. Additionally, obtaining permits without difficulty and harassment was challenging.
