Detailed Solution

On the 12th of March in 1930, Mahatma Gandhi began the Dandi March to protest the British government's imposition of a salt tax on the general populace. Through this protest effort, Mahatma Gandhi travelled to Dandi in the Gujarati state with trusted supporters and members of the general public to produce salt to signify the removal of the British-imposed salt tax. Hence, the Salt Satyagraha was another name for the Dandi March. The Dandi March also signalled the start of the congress's campaign of Civil Disobedience to end British control of the nation.
