Detailed Solution

The earliest factories came up in England in the 1730s. By the late eighteenth century, the number of manufacturers had expanded significantly. Between 1750 and 1760, England saw the first Industrial Revolution, which expanded to the rest of the world. Cotton mills were the first to be built, and production increased in the late 1800s as England could import raw materials such as cotton and silk from her Southeast Asian colonial possessions at no cost. Initially, the British focused on two industries: textiles and iron and steel.
