The Indian Constitution was passed on November 26 1949. The Constituent Assembly, established in December 1946, was responsible for writing the Indian Constitution. The Constitution of India was drafted between December 1946 and November 1949 by a group of Indian legislators who worked together. In 1946, a total of 300 people served in the Constituent Assembly. Dr Rajendra Prasad presided over the constituent assembly as the Chairman. In a total time span of two years, eleven months, and eighteen days, the Constituent Assembly finished the job. The Constitution of India was ratified on November 26, 1949, and it officially began to govern the country on January 26, 1950.
