Detailed Solution

On the 13th of April, 1919, the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre happened.
Colonial rulers passed the Rowlatt Act in 1919, in which anyone suspected of being involved in terrorist activities could be arrested by the British government. Many strikes and protests broke out in the country against the Rowlatt Act, especially in the Punjab province. General Dyer had imposed martial law over the Punjab State and made rules against public gatherings. But due to the festival of Baisakhi, many people had assembled in Jallianwala Bagh. Seeing this, General Dyer opened fire, killing hundreds of innocents.
