Detailed Solution

On April 10, the police fired upon a procession in Amritsar.
In Amritsar as well, similar rallies were going on, and on April 10, the police fired upon a peaceful procession in Amritsar. The Rowlatt Act of 1919 was disapproved by many Indian leaders and members of the Imperial Legislative Council. To show their disappointment in implementing the Act, Indian leaders like Mahatma Gandhi organised rallies in various cities. Workers, shopkeepers, and railway workers were all a part of the movement against the Rowlatt Act. Local leaders were also against the Rowlatt Act and organised local rallies. This provoked widespread attacks on government banks, post offices, and railway stations. The situation went out of control in Amritsar after this event.
