Detailed Solution

The Second Battle of Tarain occurred in 1192 A.D. The Turks attacked the Rajputs again in the Second Battle of Tarain one year after the First Battle of Tarain because Muhammad Ghori could not defeat king Prithviraj Chauhan. Muhammad Ghori's army had 1,20,000 soldiers at the Second Battle, compared to Prithviraj Chauhan's army, which had around 2000 elephants but only 3,00,000 soldiers. Prithviraj Chauhan's army suffered significant losses due to Mohammad Ghori's surprise assault utilising four divisions of arches on the "Chahamana camp" in Tarain.
