The weavers in Silesia protested in 1845.
Weavers in Silesia revolted against contractors who supplied raw materials and gave them orders for finished textiles. However, their payments were drastically reduced in 1845. Contractors took advantage of the desperate need for jobs. Thus weavers in great numbers came out of their homes and marched in pairs to the contractor's residence, demanding higher pay. They were met with scorn and threats in equal measure.
