When did wood's despatch came in light? 

Charles Wood, a British Liberal politician sent the “Wood’s despatch” to the Governor General Lord Dalhousie in 1854. The Despatch mentioned that economics was one of the practical applications. According to this, Indians would be better able to see the benefits of increased trade and commerce and would understand the significance of maximising the nation's resources if they had access to European education. Indians would start appreciating and purchasing goods made in Europe.
