When European countries came together to form the European Union (EU), Brussels was chosen as the EU's headquarters. Belgium is a small country in Europe. It shares its borders with- Netherlands, Germany, and Luxembourg. Its capital is Brussels. The country is composed of Dutch, French, and German-speaking people. The Dutch Speaking people are in the majority and live in the Flemish region, whereas French speakers constitute 40 per cent of the population and live in the Wallonia region. The rest 1 per cent of the population speaks German and lives in Wallonia. Though the French were in the minority, they were quite rich and powerful, which led to the rise of conflict. Later the constitution was amended, and all the groups were given good positions to solve the issue. Later, Brussels was chosen as its headquarters when the European Union was formed.
