Detailed Solution

Kadalekai Parishe, or the Bengaluru Groundnut Festival, is traditionally held every year on the last Sunday of November and continues for two to three days. In 2025, this falls on November 30, 2025.

The festival marks the first groundnut harvest of the season and is dedicated to Basava (Nandi), the sacred bull. Farmers from nearby districts like Magadi, Tumakuru, and Chikkaballapur gather in Basavanagudi to sell and celebrate their crops. Streets around Bull Temple Road, Bugle Rock, and Dodda Ganapathi Temple are filled with stalls selling groundnuts, sweets, toys, and traditional items.

The event also features folk performances, rituals at the Bull Temple, and cultural exhibitions. The festival’s essence lies in gratitude and community spirit, symbolizing Bengaluru’s agrarian heritage blended with modern festivity. Visitors enjoy both spiritual and cultural experiences during the weekend-long celebration.
