Detailed Solution

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind began its existence in March 1919. The Ulema, a driving force in the 1857 movement and considered India's first fight for independence, was the main target of British persecution when the uprising was crushed. The number of martyrs at the time was 200,000 men and women. The Ulema made up around 51,200 of these. Delhi hung 500 of this Ulema. Twenty years after India's first fight for independence, in 1877, Shaikhul Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan founded "Samratut Tarbiyat," intending to prepare for an armed uprising against the British. After nearly three decades of resistance to the British, this group was reconstituted in 1909 under the name Jamiatul Ansaar, under the leadership of Maulana Obaidullah Sindhi.
