Detailed Solution

The situation is called underemployment when a person either doesn't work full time or is working in a job but less than potential. It is different from unemployment as, in that situation, a person is not employed. Underemployment can be of two types:
1)      Visible underemployment: When a person possesses skills to work full-time but cannot find such jobs and has to work part-time jobs to meet financial needs, the situation is termed visible underemployment.
2)      Invisible underemployment: When a person works in a job that doesn't utilise his skills, the situation is called invisible underemployment—for example, an engineer working as a waiter in a restaurant.
