Gender is a complex societal concept based on expectations and stereotypes from people of different sexes and is not a biological concept. Boys and girls are brought up to believe that the primary responsibility of women is to do household work and give birth to and bring up children. It is reflected in the sexual division of labour. In most families, women do all the household work, such as cooking, cleaning, and washing, while men do all the work outside the home. It is not that men cannot do household chores- they are simply made to believe that it is the job of women to attend to these things.
