Detailed Solution

When two colours of light (X and Y) are sent through a glass prism, X is bent more than Y. Then X light ray travels more slowly in the prism.
The X-ray bent more than the Y-ray soit can be concluded that the X-ray has a maximum refractive index. When two light rays (X and Y) are passed through the prism both light rays will deviate, but in this, as the X light ray deviates more than the Y light ray, which means that the X light ray has the maximum refractive index and its travelling speed is very low as the velocity of a light ray is inversely proportional to its refractive index and directly proportional to its optical density when passes through any medium.
