The case of Subhash Kumar vs. the state of Bihar was fought in the year 1991 in the Supreme Court, the apex court of India. It was in this case that the highest court of appellate jurisdiction gave the verdict regarding the Right to Life. The Right to life (Protection of Life and Personal Liberty) is a fundamental Right provided in the Article 21 of the constitution of India. The Supreme court, in the case, held that the Right to Life included the right to access to pollution free water and air for the enjoyment of life.
