Detailed Solution

On 10th March 1919, the Rowlatt Act was implemented. Rowlatt Act was one of the acts which came into being during British colonial rule. It had given the British authorities the right to arrest people for two years without any trial or evidence. People could be arrested only based on suspicion of the British government. The Rowlatt Act was implemented to give harsh treatment to people who were protesting or criticising the government's actions or decisions. However, people from different parts of the country participated in the struggle for independence from British rule. They willingly participated in many of the movements like the Non-Cooperation movement, Civil Disobedience movement, Satyagraha, etc.
