Either, no reactant is left $\frac{\mathrm{x}}{12}=\frac{\mathrm{y}}{32}\Rightarrow \frac{\mathrm{y}}{\mathrm{x}}=2.67$

Or $\frac{\mathrm{y}}{32}>\frac{\mathrm{x}}{12}\Rightarrow \frac{\mathrm{y}}{\mathrm{x}}>2.67$

Or $$\begin{gathered} \mathrm{C}+\frac{1}{2}{\mathrm{O}}_2\to \mathrm{CO} \\ \mathrm{xg} \mathrm{yg} \end{gathered}$$

$\frac{\mathrm{x}}{12}\times \frac{1}{2}=\frac{\mathrm{y}}{32}$

$\Rightarrow \frac{\mathrm{y}}{\mathrm{x}}=1.33$

Or $\frac{\mathrm{y}}{\mathrm{x}}>1.33$

Note : If both CO2 and CO are formed then, $\frac{\mathrm{y}}{\mathrm{x}}\ge 1.33$ is more appropriate.
