Detailed Solution

Municipalities are set up in Small Towns.
A Municipal Council, also known as a municipality, a Nagar Palika, or a Nagar Palika Parishad, is a ULB (Urban Local Body) that administers a city with a population of 100,000 or more people. A municipal area is a territory that a municipal corporation controls. Wards are the territorial constituencies that make up each municipal area. A Wards Committee is part of a municipal corporation. Wards Committee members are elected for a five-year term based on the adult franchise. A Municipal Committee is formed for smaller towns with populations ranging from 20,000 to 3 lakh.
