Where are the red blood cells produced?

Red blood corpuscles are a type of blood cell found in the blood. RBCs contain a protein called hemoglobin, which carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body.

RBCs are formed in the bone marrow, the soft tissue found inside the medullary cavities of long bones like hip and thigh bones. The bone marrow produces hematopoietic stem cells that develop into blood cells.
