Detailed Solution

Gujjar cattle came down to the dry forest of the bhabar in the winter, and when the snow melted, and the passes were precise, many of them moved on to the higher mountain meadows. In Bhabar, a dry forested area below the foothills of Garhwal and Kumaon, in the summers, they went up to the high meadows known as burials. Many were originally from Jammu and came to the hills in the 19th century in search of good passions. By September, they began that return movement, and on the way, they stopped again in the villages of Lahaul and Spiti. This pattern of cyclical movement between summer and winter passions was typical among many pastoral communities of the Himalayas.
