The Smith Field club was the largest livestock market in London during the mid and late nineteenth century. The cattle trade fairs were a medium for farmers to purchase and sell their livestock per their demand prices. Lately, during the late-nineteenth century, the Smithfield club got interlinked with the newly developed massive poultry and meat market by the railway line connecting Smith Field to all the meat-supplying epicentres of the country.
