Detailed Solution

Bihar's Champaran district is where the indigo plantation movement took place. Many tenant farmers were required to cultivate some indigo on a section of their property as a requirement of their tenancy under legislation from the Colonial era. The Champaran Satyagraha started when Raj Kumar Shukla, a moneylender who owned some property, convinced Gandhi to travel to Champaran. The British were given a thorough analysis of the situation. 1918 Champaran Agrarian Act The law was created to safeguard the interests of the peasants based on the evaluation.
