Where does photosynthesis take place in a plant cell?

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts of plant cells. 

Chloroplasts are specialized organelles found in plant cells that contain chlorophyll, the pigment that gives plants their green color. Chloroplasts are responsible for capturing light energy from the sun and converting it into chemical energy through the process of photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, carbon dioxide and water are converted into glucose and oxygen in the presence of sunlight, with the help of chlorophyll and other pigments present in the chloroplasts.
