Detailed Solution

The Indus river rises from Mansarovar.
It is one of the major Himalayan rivers of the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the longest rivers in Asia, with a total length of 2900 km, out of which 709 km is in India. It has five major tributaries: the Chenab, the Jhelum, the Ravi, the Beas, and the Satluj. It empties into the Arabian Sea in Pakistan. There was a dispute over the water sharing of this river between India and Pakistan that resulted in the emergence of a  water-sharing treaty named the Indus Water Treaty. It was signed between the two nations.
