Sambhar Lake is located in Rajasthan.
It is the largest inland saltwater lake in India. The Aravali Hills on all sides surround the lake. The lake gets the water from 6 small rivers and streams: Mantha, Khari, Khandela, Rupangarh, Medha, and Samod.
Around 9% of India's total salt production comes from Sambhar Lake. It is designated as a Ramsar site; that is, it is a recognized wetland of international importance. It is also a major tourist attraction. Thousands of flamingos migrate from Siberia to this lake during the winter season.
