Detailed Solution

The opium from India is exported to China.
Britain established its colony in India during the 18th century. It carried out trade with different countries. The British reaped huge profits from the work of opium with China. Opium was produced in India and carried to China through merchants. Indians also performed as junior players in the opium trade through financing, procurement, and shipping consignments. Hence, it was also known as China Trade. Through this trade, many Indians earned huge profits and established their businesses and industries in India. Example: Dwarkanath Tagore of Bengal was involved in the China Trade. Later, he set up six joint stock companies from profits in trade.
