In Uttar Pradesh,  the police station was set on fire.
In the Chauri Chaura incident, which happened on February 5, 1922, police opened fire on a sizable crowd of demonstrators taking part in the non-cooperation movement in Chauri Chaura, in the Gorakhpur district of the United Provinces (modern-day Uttar Pradesh), in British India. In the marketplace, people demonstrated against exorbitant meat prices on February 2, 1922. Numerous leaders were held at the Chauri Chaura police station, and many were arrested after being beaten by the authorities. The volunteers planned another anti-police demonstration.
