Detailed Solution

Woodblock was invented in Korea. Woodblock printing and movable type were two of the Tang (618–906) and Song (960–1279) dynasties' most important technologies because they allowed for the mass publication of a wide range of literature and the spread of knowledge and literacy. The technique of taking inked rubbings of inscribed writings from bronze and stone reliefs and the far older practise of using bronze or stone seals to produce imprints on clay or silt are said to have been the inspiration for the invention of woodblock printing in China about 600. By the conclusion of the Tang dynasty, block printing on paper was an art form. Aside from calendars, calligraphy, and lucky charms, books on agriculture and health were the primary subjects of early woodblock printing.
