Detailed Solution

Secularism and Separation of power are the key features of the Indian Constitution.
1)      A secular state is one in which no one religion is formally recognized as the state religion. Thus, India does not have a state religion. Moreover, it guarantees the fundamental right to freedom of religion.
2)      The Constitution lists three different organs of the government, i.e., the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary. According to the Constitution, each of these organs shall exercise distinct powers to avoid the abuse of power by any one arm of the government. Through the division of powers, each organ of the state serves as a check on the other organs, and this characteristic also guarantees the balance of power between the three.
