Detailed Solution

The top tower of a temple is called Shikhara.
The term "shikhara" has its roots in Sanskrit and is the temple's top tower. It can roughly mean "mountain peak." It refers to the rising tower most commonly noted in Hindu temple architecture. The Rajarajeshvara temple has an impressive shikhara of 90 tonne stone. Initially, the architects had to engineer an inclined path to the temple's peak. Then place a boulder on rollers and roll it to the top. Later, they demolished the course after the temple construction was completed.
