Detailed Solution

The role of the judge is to conduct the trial impartially.
There are many functions of the criminal justice system. And those are done by different people like police, public prosecutor, judge, and so on. The judge listens to all witnesses and checks all the evidence submitted by both the prosecution and the defence. He should do all these tasks fairly. After the examination and cross-examination by the lawyers, the judge decides whether the person is guilty or not. This decision should be solely based on the evidence submitted. Finally, the judge writes down the judgement and declares it. He/she may send the person to jail or impose an amount of fine or both based on what the law says.
