Air is used in the aneroid barometer.
The instrument used to measure air pressure is the aneroid barometer. An aneroid barometer does not use any liquid to measure; instead, it uses air as an appliance to measure atmospheric pressure. It is made up of an empty chamber covered by a thin elastic disk. High atmospheric pressure is pushed against the disk, and a bulge inward is caused, while low pressure does not push as tough, allowing the disk to bulge outward.
